Join the Georgia State University Wind Orchestra and Concert Band for an unforgettable evening of music that explores diverse themes and powerful emotions.
The Wind Orchestra, led by Professor Devin Reid and graduate conductors Rachel Breaux and Braeden Weyhrich, presents "A Celebration to Remember," a program filled with vibrant energy and poignant moments. Highlights include Joseph Curiale’s “Joy” from "Awakening," Robert Spittal’s "Pacem," Jonathan Kochik’s "With Courage Unyielding" and the festive Symphonic Dance No. 3 “Fiesta” by Clifton Williams.
The Concert Band, led by Lawrence Williams and graduate conductor Julianna Pinero, presents “Of Myths and Monuments,” a program that explores the grandeur of mythology and history. Featuring works like Dmitri Shostakovich’s "Folk Dances," Frank Ticheli’s "Simple Gifts: Four Shaker Songs" and the epic "Of Sailors and Whales" by Francis McBeth, this portion of the concert promises to captivate with vivid imagery and bold storytelling.
