Associate Professor, Department of Business Humanities and Law, Copenhagen Business School
Daniel Souleles is an anthropologist and associate professor at the Copenhagen Business School. He studies economics, politics, and value in the United States, and has conducted fieldwork on private equity investors, employee-owned companies, computerized stock trading, and the Massachusetts State Legislature. He is the author of Songs of Profit, Songs of Loss: Private equity, wealth, and inequality (Nebraska 2019), and Whoosh Goes the Market: Algorithms, automation, and alienation (Chicago 2024). He is also the editor of Economic Anthropology and sometimes plays the banjo.
