Trumpet Festival of the Southeast featuring Sean Jones with Special Guest David Pastor

Trumpet Virtuosos in Concert with the Georgia State University Jazz Band
Presented by the Georgia State University School of Music and CENCIA
Master Trumpeters

This performance is part of the annual Trumpet Festival of the Southeast! This year's festival features Sean Jones with special guest David Pastor and the Georgia State University Jazz Band in homage to Brazilian jazz trumpeter, Claudio Roditi (1946-2020).

Music and spirituality have always been intertwined in the artistic vision of trumpeter, bandleader, composer, educator, and activist Sean Jones. Mr. Jones has been prominently featured in recordings and performances with many major figures in jazz, including Illinois Jacquet, Jimmy Heath, Frank Foster, Nancy Wilson, Dianne Reeves, Gerald Wilson, and Marcus Miller. He was selected by Mr. Miller, Herbie Hancock, and Wayne Shorter for their A Tribute to Miles tour in 2011.

Special guest David Pastor is an acclaimed conductor, producer, sideman and soloist. He is currently a professor at Escola Superior d'Estudis Musicals Barcelona Music Workshop and director of the "Original Jazz Orchestra" of the Music Workshop.
