In celebration of International Women's History Month, the Alonzo A. Crim Center for Urban Educational Excellence will host a screening of the film, "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" on Monday, March 24, from 4-6:30 p.m. in CEHD room 150. 

This powerful film highlights the incredible story of Henrietta Lacks, an African American woman whose cells became an essential part of global medical history. Her cells were used to create the first immortal human cell line in the 1950s, leading to countless groundbreaking medical advancements.

The center hopes to create an inspiring space to reflect on the profound impact that Henrietta Lacks' life and legacy continue to have on science and society.

This event is free and open to all Georgia State students, faculty and staff. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
