https://math.gsu.edu/yichuan/2026Workshop/Biostatistics and Bioinformatics have been playing a key and important role in statistics and other scientific research fields in recent years. The goal of this workshop is to stimulate research and to foster the interaction of researchers in Biostatistics & Bioinformatics research areas. The workshop will provide the opportunity for faculty and graduate students to meet the top researchers in a small group setting, identify important directions for future research, and facilitate research collaboration.
The workshop will be held on May 08 - 10, 2026. The keynote speaker is Dr. Ming Yuan, Professor of Statistics, Department of Statistics at Columbia University. There will be invited talks by distinguished researchers, and a poster session by young researchers and graduate students.
In order to encourage graduate students and young researchers to conduct cutting-edge research, we organize a poster session. The workshop will be providing partial NSF travel awards to selected conference participants. Priority will be given to senior graduate students, post-graduate, recent Ph.D's, and junior faculty.
In order to disseminate the biostatistics knowledge in support of the workshop, we provide a short course during the workshop. The short course "Empowering Your Study Through Federated Learning: PDA and the New MOSAiC Framework" will be offered as a part of the workshop program and held on the afternoon of Friday, May 08, 2026. The short course is a half-day (four hours) presentation, which is taught by Dr. Yong Chen. The course certificate is provided.
