 ood\, Fla.\, is a small\, peaceful town with an almost entirely African Am
 erican population of middle-class homeowners\, until New Year's Day 1923\,
  when a lynch mob from a neighboring white community storms the town. Amon
 g the carnage\, music teacher Sylvester (played by Don Cheadle) and myster
 ious stranger Mann (played by Ving Rhames) stand tall against the invaders
 \, while white grocer John (played by Jon Voight) attempts to save the tow
 n's women and children.\n\nFollowing the screening\, the center will also 
 host a panel discussion about the film.
