The College of Education & Human Development's Alonzo A. Crim Center for Urban Educational Excellence will host a free screening and discussion of the movie "Rosewood" on Friday, March 6, at 5 p.m. at Georgia State's Cinefest Film Theater (66 Courtland St. SE, Suite 262).

Rosewood, Fla., is a small, peaceful town with an almost entirely African American population of middle-class homeowners, until New Year's Day 1923, when a lynch mob from a neighboring white community storms the town. Among the carnage, music teacher Sylvester (played by Don Cheadle) and mysterious stranger Mann (played by Ving Rhames) stand tall against the invaders, while white grocer John (played by Jon Voight) attempts to save the town's women and children.

Following the screening, the center will also host a panel discussion about the film.
