About this Event
The "Paying People on Sponsored Projects Part 1" workshop provides research administrators with a comprehensive overview of the policies and processes for compensating individuals on research grants. Participants will learn about the different types of employees, including faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate assistants, and the specific payment structures and benefits applicable to each group. The workshop covers key topics such as effort planning, institutional base salary, course release and salary buyout processes, and extra compensation guidelines. Attendees will also explore procedures for recruiting, onboarding, and managing tuition waivers for graduate assistants.
