REGISTER HERE TO ATTEND THE PANTHER COMMUNITY PLUNGE
Time for our Panthers to take the PLUNGE!!!! The Panther Community Plunge is Georgia State’s first large-scale service event of the academic year. Through community service, first year and returning students at Georgia State are introduced to a variety of social issues faced by our Atlanta communities. Come join us and make a difference in our community!
Panther Community Plunge will take place Friday, September 27, 20234. We are excited to host this day of service during GSU’s Family Weekend and to invite our entire Panther family to volunteer!
This year’s on-campus project in Atlanta serves children experiencing food insecurity. Volunteers will work in teams to make and package "snack packs" for children. These items will then be distributed to local elementary schools and afterschool programs. Our goal is to serve 3,000 children through this project! We are also hosting an on-campus project in on Decatur's campus, volunteering in the Community and Botanical Gardens.
Our off-campus projects support non-profit community partners in the Metro Atlanta area: Atlanta Tool Bank, Urban Recipe, Rooftop Gardens, Richard Allen Community Outreach Center, and Grocery Spot. All service projects include an orientation to the non-profits served and the social issues addressed.
At the end of our service day, participants are invited to a celebration and meal at our Atlanta campus to share their Panther Community Plunge experience.
We hope you take the community "plunge" with us! Sign up on PawsForACause
