Analyzing a Tennis Game by Observing Player Game Patterns
Srija Reddy Kasam
Advisor: Dr. Ying Zhu
Tennis is a game in which a player changes his or her patterns during play depending on several factors. Players often use different game patterns within a single game. For example, a player might start with one pattern at the beginning of a game and then change the pattern near the end when the player is just one point away from winning. In my project, we find all the patterns used by a player by observing the player's games and then visualize them, grouping the patterns into different categories based on points. We try to find out the player's most frequently used game pattern during different situations by analyzing his or her game play. Hence we focus on the micro-level analysis of a player's game based on critical moments in the game.
