DESCRIPTION:Title: Assessing the Impact of Healthcare expansion and Materna
l Education on Maternal and Child Health (MCH)\n\nAims: This study aims to
show how healthcare expansion\, maternal education\, and community health
worker (CHW) programs affect maternal and child health outcomes (MCH) wit
hin the United States and sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). It compares the health
care systems within both regions\, evaluates the effects of maternal educa
tion on MCH outcomes\, and delves into how CHWs reduce economic burdens an
d improve healthcare access.\n\nMethods: A systematic literature review de
sign was used\, combining open-access\, peer-reviewed studies published be
tween 2010 and 2025. The searches were done through PubMed\, CINAHL\, Scop
us\, and Google Scholar. The focus of articles in maternal education\, CHW
-led interventions\, and healthcare expansion. Studies were evaluated thro
ugh the Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Tools.\n\nResults: The
findings showed the U.S. Medicaid expansion through the Affordable Care Ac
t (ACA) reduced maternal mortality by 1.6 deaths per 100\,000 live births\
, though there showed racial inequities persisting. In SSA\, CHW intervent
ions increased the deliveries within institutions by up to 27% and antenat
al care attendance (ANC) by 18%. Maternal education shows a correlation of
reducing child mortality by 7% per additional year of schooling past midd
le school education and a reduction of 25% in malnutrition risks.\n\nConcl
usion: The integration of financial expansion\, maternal education\, and c
ommunity-based interventions allows for an equitable and sustainable impro
vement of MCH outcomes. Policy recommendations would involve the uptake in
formal CHW programs\, addressing structural inequities in cross-sector co
llaborations\, and linking education incentives to healthcare access.\n\nC
