About this Event
Drawing from inclusive teaching practices and Cia Verschelden's book Bandwidth Recovery, this workshop will explore how students' brains are impacted by stress, trauma, and the effects of reduced cognitive bandwidth caused by poverty, systemic racism, and social marginalization. By understanding how learning works and what pedagogical approaches work best for students with diminished bandwidth, we can design lessons, assignments, and activities to maximize the potential of all students and boost their overall success. Join us to learn concrete strategies to implement in your classrooms, both face-to-face and online.
This workshop is open to faculty and graduate students.
