PantherDev, Georgia State's student organization devoted to game development, is thrilled to announce the Creative Media Industries Institute as a designated site for the Global Game Jam (GGJ). The event takes place Jan. 26–28, 2024.

The Global Game Jam is a dynamic 48-hour event, inviting individuals to collaborate in teams and create a game within the given time frame. This unique experience serves as a rapid and immersive way to delve into game development, providing participants with valuable insights to enrich their portfolios.

If you're 18 years of age or older and keen on joining the GGJ, PantherDev extends a warm welcome to the site. The event kicks off at 4:30 p.m.  Jan. 26 with an engaging keynote and theme reveal. The game jam reaches its exciting conclusion at 5 p.m. Jan. 28 with a final showcase and judging. Early birds are encouraged to arrive and mingle, forming teams and connections.

The jam site boasts ample PCs equipped with essential programs such as Unity, Unreal, Blender and more, exclusively for the jammers' use. However, participants are also encouraged to bring their own technology for a personalized touch. Fueling your creativity, we'll provide snacks throughout the 48-hour jam.

The jam site remains open for the entire duration, fostering a vibrant and collaborative atmosphere. Information sessions and the presence of industry representatives will add an extra layer of value to your experience.
