Join us for Gather: The American-International Thanksgiving — a celebration of gratitude, community, and connection! Come enjoy comforting food, meaningful conversation, and fun activities while learning about the history and meaning of Thanksgiving, including the important contributions of Indigenous and Native American communities. It’s the perfect way to share in the spirit of the season, meet new people, and build cross-cultural connections.
The event's schedule is as follows:
→ Welcoming Remarks from Dr. Michael Sanseviro, Vice President for Student Engagement
→ Brief Presentation by Professor G. Sue Kasun, Professor of Language and Culture Education
→ Panel on Indigeneity featuring Beth Michel, Senior Associate Director for the Center for Native American and Indigenous Studies at Emory University
→ New Friend Bingo and a Thanksgiving Feast!
What's on the menu? We're happy to asked!:
→ Baked Ham or Oven Roasted Turkey
→ Caesar Salad
→ Broccoli and Cauliflower Au Gratin or Twice-Baked Macaroni and Cheese
→ Peach Cobbler
Please note: Entry is free and open to everyone! However, anyone who is not (1) a currently enrolled Georgia State student; or (2) part of the event’s scheduled programming will be charged $20 for food if they choose to dine.
