DESCRIPTION:Praised for his “impeccable interpretation” and “highly r
 efined technique\, imagination and musical taste” (Jornal da Cidade Baur
 u\, Brazil)\, pianist Vicente Della Tonia has performed in concert halls t
 hroughout Europe\, North and South America. Earlier in his career\, he rec
 eived top prize awards in numerous piano competitions\, including the XXI 
 Concurso Latino-Americano de Piano Rosa Mística\, XX Concurso Nacional de
  Paulo Giovanini\, and the III Concurso Nacional de Piano Maestro Rodrigo 
 Tavares. Recently\, Vicente has been featured as a guest artist in the WFM
 T and WXVS/Wabe public radio stations\, and at the Dame Myra Hess Memorial
  Concert Series (Chicago\, IL)\, Universidade Estadual de São Paulo\, Fac
 uldade e Conservatório Souza Lima\, Conservatório Baurense (in Brazil)\,
  the VII Coloquio do Seminario Permanente de História y Música (Mexico C
 ity)\, as well as a soloist with the DeKalb Symphony Orchestra and the Per
 imeter Wind Ensemble (Atlanta\, GA). He has been highly involved with the 
 Music Teachers National Association’s (MTNA) and presented lectures and 
 recitals at the national and state conferences in various states such as C
 olorado\, Georgia\, Illinois\, Minnesota\, Nevada\, South Carolina\, Texas
  and Washington. \n\nVicente received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in
  Piano from the University of South Carolina\, where he studied piano unde
 r the guidance of Marina Lomazov and piano pedagogy under Scott Price. Pri
 or\, he studied piano under the tutelage of Judit Gabòs\, Sergio Gallo an
 d Rosa Maria Tolon Marin\, and received the Master of Music in Piano Perfo
 rmance (Georgia State University)\, Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance
  (Universidade do Sagrado Coração\, (Brazil)) and Artist Diploma/Certifi
 cate (Conservatório Musical de Lençóis Paulista\, (Brazil)).  Additiona
 lly\, Vicente studies with Sonia Rubinsky\, and has had lessons with Josep
 h Kalichstein\, Tamás Ungár\, Yoheved Kaplinsky\, John Owings\, Joseph R
 ackers\, Cecílio Tieles\, Angel Soler  at the “Piano Texas Internationa
 l Academy & Festival” (Fort Worth\, Texas)\, “Burgos International Mus
 ic Festival” (Burgos\, Spain)\, and “Curso Internacional de Música de
  Vila-Seca” (Salou\, Spain). \n\nCurrently\, Dr. Vicente Della Tonia is 
 Coordinator of Keyboard Studies and Associate Professor of Piano at Georgi
 a State University/Perimeter at Clarkston\, where he is also the founder a
 nd director of the Perimeter PianoFest\, the Distinguish Guest Artist Mast
 erclass Series\, and the Young Artists Recital Series. Prior to Georgia St
 ate\, he was a faculty member at Allen University and University of South 
 Carolina’s Community Music School in Columbia\, SC\; Claflin University 
 in Orangeburg\, SC\; and Seminário Santo Antônio and Conservatório Musi
 cal de Lençóis Paulista\, both in Brazil. \n\nTwo-time recipient of the 
 Steinway & Sons’s Top Teacher Award of the Year (2017 and 2020)\, his st
 udents have received high praises and earned top prize awards in competiti
 ons throughout the USA and Brazil. Dr. Della Tonia has been in demand as a
 n adjudicator and has served on the jury panel of over one-hundred competi
 tions\, auditions and examinations locally\, regionally\, nationally and i
 nternationally\, and currently serves as a jury member of the Osaka Intern
 ational Music Competition\, Southeastern Piano Festival- SEPF (young jury 
 chairman)\, Federation of Music Clubs\, and Music Teachers National Associ
 ation. Furthermore\, he is President of the Atlanta Music Teachers Associa
 tion and Vice President of Auditions for the Georgia Music Teachers Associ
 ation.\n\nVicente Della Tonia is a recording artist for the ACA Digital Re
 cording label. His debut album with works by Brazilian composer Heitor Vil
 la-Lobos was released earlier in 2024.
