About this Event
GSU Physics & Astronomy One-Minute Colloquium, host: Deborah Gulledge
We are excited to have our (second annual!) One-Minute Colloquium! It is open to anyone and everyone within the department (grad students, faculty members, postdocs, staff, undergraduates, any interested party). Each presenter creates a single slide summarizing their research. They are then given one minute of speaking, and after those sixty seconds are up — ding! — we switch over to the next person on the list. This is a great way to show all our new first years the different types of research going on within the department, and to give the rest of the department a chance to see what our colleagues have been up over the past year. It will be fun, lighthearted, fast paced, and will give us all a good chance to practice our ‘elevator speech' in a low-stakes, enjoyable environment. A Google Slides link and instructions on how to create your slide will be sent out via email closer to the event. Please join us to share your own research in 60 seconds and to hear about all the other exciting science going on in the GSU Department of Physics and Astronomy!
