About this Event
In this session, we'll discuss misconceptions about the "average student" and consider revising our materials to suit all students.
The myth of the "average student" sometimes tempts us to develop class materials to fit students that don't exist. Sometimes our idea of what would be ideal for the "average student" doesn't account for learning differences. In this session, we'll discuss some of our misconceptions about the "average student" and look at options for revising our materials to build a more inclusive classroom. Sometimes simple changes can lead to huge improvements for all of our students, not just the "average" ones.
Appropriate for Faculty and Graduate Students at Georgia State University or other USG institutions. Hosted by Dr. Jennifer Hall, CETLOE
