Featuring trombone soloists Grant Erie with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Bill Mann with the Concert Band
Georgia State University bands present a shared evening of concert music led by multiple conductors and spotlighting two featured trombone soloists. The Symphonic Wind Ensemble, conducted by Devin Reid, performs movements I and II of Derek Bourgeois’s Concerto for Bass Trombone with Grant Erie, winner of the GSU Brumby Concerto Competition, as soloist.
The Concert Band follows with selections including Patrick Roszell’s "In Joyous Flight" conducted by Braeden Weyhrich, Julie Giroux’s "The Grace in Being," Viet Cuong’s "Howls and Hymns" featuring trombonist Bill Mann, and Arnold/Paynter’s "Prelude, Siciliano, and Rondo."
