Governor McAuliffe: Fighting White Nationalism

In August 2017, white supremacists marched on Charlottesville, Virginia, torches in hand and carrying Nazi flags, echoing the ultra-right movements of the mid-20th century. Counter protestors gathered to stand against the marchers. What followed was a horrific 24 hours of hate and violence and the murder of 32 year old Heather Heyer.
Former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe recounts the events surrounding the “Unite the Right” rally in his new book Beyond Charlottesville. McAuliffe suggests what could have deterred the violence and proposes ways the nation can prevent future Charlottesvilles.
John Hope Bryant, CEO of Operation HOPE, will interview Gov. McAuliffe and moderate the subsequent audience discussion of how the nation can tackle white nationalism.
