Speaker:

Gregory E. Fosheim (J.D. ’14), Partner, McDermott Will & Schulte

Details:

In the midst of a national firestorm over gender-affirming care, lawyers are uniquely positioned to cut through misinformation, navigate legal uncertainty, and advocate for evidence-based, ethical practice. This session will explore the rapidly evolving legal landscape governing access to gender-affirming care, with a focus on Georgia and the broader United States. Drawing on over 25 years of public health and legal experience, and grounded in both professional insight and lived connection, 2014 Georgia State Law alumnus, Greg Fosheim, will unpack recent litigation, state legislative trends, and federal policy shifts, including their impact on minors, adults, and health care providers. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of their legal and ethical obligations, practical tools for navigating contentious conversations, and a renewed sense of purpose in defending patient autonomy and dignity.

CLE: 1 hour of general CLE ($4) has been applied for from the State Bar of Georgia.
