Make your course materials more accessible, so all students may better engage and participate. This hands-on webinar introduces faculty and TAs to Anthology Ally, the accessibility checker integrated into iCollege. You’ll discover how Ally flags common accessibility issues, explains why they matter, and guides you step by step through practical fixes for iCollege pages and uploaded documents. Participants are encouraged to follow along in their own course site.

By attending, you’ll learn how to:

  • Find and understand Ally indicators in iCollege content and files (PDFs, Word, PPT) to quickly spot accessibility issues
  • Fix common problems like missing text headings, low color contrast, scanned PDFs, and missing Alt Text on images using Ally’s Feedback panel
  • Include Ally in course preparation steps each semester, to reduce access barriers before they impact students or cause problems with course activities.

This workshop is perfect for instructors who want to make informed decisions about designing or replacing materials, meet ADA Title 2/WCAG expectations, and improve the overall clarity and usability of their course materials.

We recommend having files to explore with open when following along with this workshop. You can also use this form to request an iCollege Building Section to test out the different Anthology Ally features.
