Participants will learn fundamental principles and practical steps to create more accessible Word documents, benefiting users with disabilities and improving overall usability for all.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

• Apply headings and lists to structure content effectively
• Check and correct color contrast
• Add alt text for images and graphics
• Use Word’s Accessibility Checker to identify and resolve common accessibility issues.

To get the most out of this workshop we recommend bringing your own device and a Microsoft (MS) Word document you’d like to review to best follow along. The desktop version provides the most options, for information on downloading your copy of MS Word please review IIT’s page on the Microsoft Office Suite.

Additionally, those who attend in person will have the opportunity to stay after for additional support or to look at examples specific to their courses.
