Learn how to create tables and spreadsheets that are not only visually clear but fully accessible for all learners. This hands-on session will guide you through best practices and practical tools in iCollege, Microsoft Word, and Excel to ensure your content meets accessibility standards and enhances usability.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

• Identify key elements of accessible tables across multiple platforms.
• Apply techniques to fix common accessibility issues in Word, Excel, and iCollege.
• Use accessibility checkers effectively and understand their limitations.
• Create logical reading order with proper header rows.

To get the most out of this workshop we recommend bringing your own device and a Microsoft (MS) Word document with a table and/or an Excel workbook you’d like to review to best follow along.  We will also be looking at iCollege and it may help to have a sandbox you can experiment with.  You can also use this form to request an iCollege sandbox ahead of the workshop.  The desktop versions provides the most options, for information on downloading your copy of MS Word please review IIT’s page on the Microsoft Office Suite.

Additionally, those who attend in person will have the opportunity to stay after for additional support or to look at examples specific to their courses.
