In this workshop, we will discuss frequent issues that higher education instructors whose first language is not English may face in their classes. We will focus on intelligibility, which is the fundamental characteristic of oral communication and takes place when listeners can understand speakers’ intended messages. We will go over basic concepts of pronunciation and intonation that can help instructors get their messages across.
