The College of Education & Human Development's Department of Kinesiology and Health will host the 7th Annual Mike and Terry Metzler Distinguished Lecture on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m. in the Ceremonial Courtroom in the Knowles Conference Center in Georgia State University's College of Law (85 Park Place NE, Atlanta).

Established by retired faculty members Mike and Terry Metzler, this lecture brings nationally and internationally recognized speakers to campus to share scholarship, research, policy and programs that promote physical activity and healthy living. 

Hunter Leemon, chief executive officer at Sportable, will give a presentation entitled, "The Power of Accessibility in Sports and Recreation."

Leemon is the chief executive officer of Sportable, a Richmond, Virginia-based nonprofit that is nationally recognized for advancing access to adaptive sports, recreation and wellness for individuals with physical disabilities, visual impairments and those needing physical accommodations. Since joining Sportable in 2014, he has led a period of significant growth – expanding programs, deepening community partnerships and positioning the organization as a leader in inclusive sport and health innovation.
