| The Players of Georgia State University present "Getting Out" |
|
Event Description
Getting Out, by Marsha Norman, examines the influences of systems of power by juxtaposing incarceration with a more everyday existence. The play follows Arlene Holsclaw's first two days out of prison. The story simultaneously follows Arlene's life in her new apartment and her life in the prisons in which she did time. Arlene discovers that much of the outside world reminds her of her time in jail and she becomes haunted by the memories of the self she left behind.
